InnerLight Counseling

~Supporting you to heal and transform your life.

Fees

Fees and Insurance

Payment options and session fees are usually agreed upon prior to your first session.  We will discuss using insurance, private pay options and how the billing process works so you will know just what to expect your sessions will cost.

Payment of copays, deductible costs and out of pocket fees for each session are due at the end of each session.  I accept most major credit cards.

Free Initial Consultation

I offer a free half hour initial consultation as an opportunity for us to meet via video call or talk over the phone to determine if we are a good match for the support you are looking for.  One of the most important aspects of therapy is that you feel comfortable with me as your therapist or coach as you discuss issues that can be deeply personal.  It is also important for me to know what issues you want to work on to be sure I have the knowledge and expertise in these areas to be most helpful to you.  At the end of the consultation, if we both agree we want to move forward, we will schedule our first appointment.  If either of us feels the fit is not quite right, I am happy to discuss other possible referrals that could better serve you.  My foremost goal is that you get the best support possible, be that with me or a trusted colleague.

Private Pay and Sliding Scale

My standard private pay fee for individual therapy and life coaching is $190 per 55 minute session.  I also offer half hour coaching sessions for $100.

For those in financial difficulties, I do have a limited number of sliding scale spaces that allow me to adjust my fee somewhat.  Please let me know if you are interested in a sliding scale option and I can let you know availability.

Using Insurance

For Individual Therapy servcies I do accept the following insurance plans:

  • Regence and Blue Cross/Blue Shield
  • Aetna
  • United/Optum

These days insurance plans have a variety of names and subsets.  If you’re not sure if I am an in-network provider for you, I’m happy to check for you.

For other insurance providers not listed here, you may have out-of-network benefits that can help defray the cost of therapy even if I am not a direct provider for your plan.

Whether you would like to use one of the insurance plans listed above or your out-of-network benefits with other providers, I strongly encourage you to call your insurance provider prior to beginning sessions to best understand what insurance will cover and what your responsibilities are.  I am also happy to call your insurance provider for you to confirm your coverage and benefits for behavioral health treatment.

Unfortunately, most insurance plans do not cover coaching services.

Once sessions begin, I will complete monthly insurance billing for you.  Payments will be sent directly to me so you do not have to manage the on-going use of your benefits unless unusual circumstances arise.

When using your insurance benefits, it is always useful to understand what information your provider will need from me and how this impacts confidentiality and your health records.  Please feel free to discuss these issues more with me as we begin working together.
